Over at
John Chow.com, he's running a contest for someone to score a free Blogworld Expo Full Conference Pass, which is happening September 20 & 21, 2008 in Las Vegas. All you have to do is answer 3 questions - why do you want to go? What you hope to get out of it? Why do you deserve the pass? Of course, you will have to find your own plane ticket and hotel.
To wit - why do I want to go? I want to go so I can network with the who's who of the blogging world. Not only can one meet dotcom mogul
John Chow, but also people like Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, who made his first million selling Broadcast.com to Yahoo, way back in the 90s and who still maintains a blog today. I remember him posting his rationale for not signing Steve Nash to a long-term contract. That post generated a ton of comments over the season. Hey, maybe I can sell him my domain name -
DallasMavericksSuck.com.
What I hope to get out of it? It's still early days in the blogging monetization world. First mover advantage may still happen in niche areas. Also, I want to take advantage of the educational content of the conference. Learning and networking plus free swag. That's a potent combo for dotcom mogulness.
Why do I deserve the pass? I am taking action and jumping at the chance to win a free Full Conference Pass to Blogworld Expo. I want to break free of the 9-5 world and start living the dotcom lifestyle.
